Nik Coble
1.) Nik Coble, WACO (14.1 rebounds per game)
One of the single most dominant players in the state, Coble led the Warriors in scoring and rebounding while also dishing out 83 assists, blocking 80 shots and swiping 54 steals. The 6-5 senior is primed for a massive senior season with WACO.
2.) Ethan Leibold, Turkey Valley (13.2 rebounds per game)
The 6-3 big man had over four times as many rebounds as the next closest Trojan did last year, and pulled down more offensive rebounds (80) than any other player had total rebounds (73). And he shot 60.8% from the floor, to boot.
3.) Nick Reid, Central City (13.1 rebounds per game)
Reid posted one of the best statistical seasons we’ve seen during our time at Prep Hoops Iowa last year, leading the state in scoring and ranking among the best rebounders in the state. The 6-6 wing is a force who will post massive numbers for the Wildcats.
t4.) Brett Livesay, Collins-Maxwell (11.1 rebounds per game)
Livesay was a bright spot for a Spartans team that won just five games last year, leading the team in scoring and rebounding. His 14.9 points a game represented just under a third of the team’s scoring, and his 222 rebounds were 37.4% of the team’s total rebounds on the year.
Zack Lasek
t4.) Zack Lasek, Highland (11.1 rebounds per game)
Also a standout on the football field, Lasek is one of the most talented players in 1A. At 6-8 and with great athleticism, he’s capable of being absolutely dominant, as evidenced by his 20.5 points, 11.1 rebounds averages last year with 56-44-64 shooting splits.
6.) Kaden Hall, English Valleys (10.8 rebounds per game)
A 6-3 big man, Hall is coming off a highly productive freshman season that saw him lead the Bears in scoring, rebounding and steals, while tying for the team lead in assists and blocks.
7.) Caleb Bacon, Lake Mills (10.6 rebounds per game)
The 6-3 post was highly efficient (61.3 FG%) last year, ranking third on the team in scoring at 12.0 points a game and more than doubling the next closest player in rebounding. He’ll be a key piece for a Lake Mills team that we have ranked #1 to open the year in 1A.
8.) Kade Klommhaus, Diagonal (10.4 rebounds per game)
The smallest school in the state won just five games last year, but Klommhaus was productive, leading the team in scoring and rebounding.
9.) Ben Thelander, Lawton-Bronson (9.9 rebounds per game)
A 6-6 senior big man, Thelander led the Eagles in scoring and rebounding last season, shooting 53.4% from the floor in the process.
10.) Hunter Neymeyer, Lisbon (9.7 rebounds per game)
In addition to his rebounding prowess, Neymeyer’s 47 blocked shots rank fifth among 1A returnees.
