KANSAS CITY — Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at several players who stood out at Sunday’s Top 250 Expo held at the Hy-Vee Arena in Kansas City.
25 — Jake Conklin, 6’2, G, 2020, Bishop Miege
Conklin just outworks his opponents. He has some handles and can find ways to break down a defense. He stays after plays and looks to fight through contact and get his shot off. He boxes out well and plays well inside when he’s forced into the role of a post player.
70 — Davon Moret, 6’2, G, 2020, Junction City
An active player who likes the ball in his hands as he has the ability to create for himself. He can get around opponents with his dribble and looks to showcase a combination of dribble patterns in search of an opening. He can find rhythm from distance and is also a good passer inside and around the perimeter.
83 — Brayden Sadler, 6’0, G, 2020, Udall
An underrated player who showed a strong skill set and high basketball IQ. He connected from distance and showed the ability to break down opponents with his dribble and brought an intelligence to the floor as a slasher and stop and pop player.
15 — Tate Brown, 6’0, G, 2022, Manhattan
Brown wasn’t asked to handle the ball much but he can do it well and showed he can find separation around the perimeter. He is a good passer and had several smart plays in transition. He looks to get people involved but can also get to the basket himself.
44 — Lee Hatcher, 6’0, G, 2020, Liberal
He found a lot of playing time through his defense and unselfish play. He took chances when he had a good look but he played smart and looked to feed the ball inside or to the teammate with the hot hand. He doesn’t need the ball to make an impact. He was quiet at times, but is a solid player on the roster.
