Xavier Bell, 6’4, G, 2020, Andvoer Central, KC Run GMC
Bell put together a strong offseason with KC Run GMC after a big junior season at Andover Central. He has a big frame for a point guard and can bully his way to the basket, run an offense, post up and defends at a high level. Also a football prospect who is drawing college interest in that sport, Bell recently picked up offers from Central Connecticut, SEMO and Denver men’s basketball programs.
Ty Berry, 6’3, G, 2020, Sunrise, KC Run GMC
Berry made waves recently when he announced he would be leaving Newton for Wichita powerhouse Sunrise Christian Academy after a strong offseason with KC Run GMC. Berry is a well-rounded offensive player who can seemingly do it all with a smoothness to his game. He handles it, shoots it from distance and is a creative offensive player. He holds several offers, including Northwestern, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Weber State and others.
Jarrett Hensley, 6’8, F, 2020, Leavenworth, Team KC
Hensley will be heading to Link Year Prep after graduating Leavenworth and may not be a traditional class of 2020 player, but his breakout spring and summer with Team KC is impossible to ignore. Known for a long, athletic frame, Hensley continues to get stronger and weighs in at 225 pounds now and has a well-rounded game, able to stretch the floor with his outside shooting abilities. He can block shots, throw down dunks, runs the floor well and can attack the basket off the bounce. He picked up several offers in July, including UNLV, LSU, Kent State and GCU.
Paul Otieno, 6’7, F, 2020, Sunrise Christian, KC Pacers
He might not be garnering quite the same interest level as several other prospects on this list, but Otieno is an imposing physical player who can muscle up on the block and score in the paint, or step out and knock down outside shots. He is a presence on the boards and difficult for teams to keep off the offensive glass as he plays with a big motor. Otieno helped the KC Pacers put together a big spring and summer.
Katrell Raimey, 6’4, G, 2020, Olathe East, MoKan Elite
Raimey had a strong run this spring and summer with MoKan Elite competing on the Nike EYBL circuit. He enters the upcoming season as one of Kansas’ top prospects in the 2020 class and has recently picked up offers from Seton Hall, Memphis and Hofstra. He is an elite scoring option with an excellent overall skill set. Raimey has the confidence to shake off any defender and can get to the hole and jam it down someone’s throat. He looked to get those around him involved and didn’t take as many personal gambles. He fed the ball and would occasionally step back for a 3 and take the ball inside.
