Everyone plays two games and then goes into bracket play where there is a 24 second shot clock ran in the championship game. Here are five prospects that stood out at the event.
Cameron Crockett 6’6 SF • 2022 • Fort Bend Travis HS PHTX25
Cam was silky smooth with the ball in his hands. He is a for sure winner that’s how efficient his game is and how much of a floor impact that he has while he’s in the game. Very well rounded prospect. He scored at all levels at a high rate. Was a mismatch problem on the low block because of his quickness. Has a good handle on the ball and was an enforcer on the inside of the paint defensively.
Brian “BB” Knight 6’3 SG • 2022 • Katy Tompkins HS PHTX25
This seemed to be like a regaining of confidence for BB. During the spring/summer season on the E15 Circuit he didn’t seem like himself. At the ROW he was splashing it from deep. His dribble moves were fluid and seemed effortless as he got by defenders with ease. He is a three point specialist, but showed that he can take you to the rim when he wants to.
Jalon Collins 5’6 PG • 2022 • Klein Forest HS
Super strapped small guard that came and made a statement. He also left with everyone knowing his name after the event. He has the quickness and ball speed with a tight secured dribble. Was good in the pick and roll set as well. He shot the ball extremely well from deep. NBA range deep and was knocking it down in transition. Knocked them down with a man in his face. He is a sharpshooter and is now known in the Greater Houston area. He will be a great addition to the Eagles varsity squad.
Cam Amboree 5’11 PG • 2022 • Sam Houston HS
Cam will be a new face at Sam Houston this year and will be a key contributor to the Tigers success. He got things started early for his squad at the ROW. The quick point has excellent floor awareness and reads his teammates well. A prospect who picks up on his teammates tendencies quickly. He is a big time shot maker from downtown and was solid with his on-ball defense as he came away with multiple steals.
Latavien Denson 5’7 PG • 2022 • Fort Bend Marshall HS
Tay was a quiet assassin on the court. He scored big buckets at pivotal points in each game. He earned my Mr. Lockdown award because no matter who he had to guard he put handcuffs on them. Acceleration to deceleration and stop and go heso was key for him to create for his teammates.
