Top guards from the Premier Summer Showcase
This past weekend, Bellevue College hosted its annual Premier Summer Showcase, featuring lots of talent from the Northwest. Check out some of the top guards from this past weekends tournament!
Will Pohland C/O 2021 PG: One of the best court vision players at the tournament. Had quick handles and passing abilities. Pushed the ball up the court and distributes every possession. Very structured and smooth looking shot. His fast crossover kept defenders on the edge. Always was looking up the court on fast breaks to make long court passes if necessary.
Ayoni Benavidez C/O 2020 PG/SG: Very talented scoring guard. Premier ball handling skills and moves. Strong with the spin move when driving. Takes contact well and finishes. Good athleticism as well. First one down the court on fast breaks with or without the ball. Great court vision, made quick sneaky passes to get assists on drives. Beautiful touch at the rim. I was impressed by his ability to score essentially whenever. Not only an offensive player, but also possesses quick footwork and locked down defenders all tournament.
Hayden Kolb C/O 2021 SG: Pure stroke from three. Confidently shoots his shot and hits at a high percentage. Positions himself well beyond the arc in order to get shots off the ball. Could incorporate a slashing mentality into his game to increase his unpredictability on offense.
Jared Roznos C/O 2021 PG/SG: Well put together player on both sides of the ball. Shoots the ball at a decent percentage beyond the arc. Relies on speed to get to the hoop or distribute to teammates. Has the ability to drive and make tight passes for assists. Always pushes the ball on fast break as he is one of the quickest players on his team and in the tournament. When a deficit occurs, he controlled the game and got the team back on track. Showed great leadership throughout.
