Player Spotlight: New set of 2021 rankings revealed
The 247Sports composite rankings were recently released and a good number of players earned a new set of rankings in the 2021 class. July has been a good month for Georgia ball players so far, with a few ballers paving their way to higher rankings in the state and nationally. Here are a few players who moved up in the 2021 rankings for the state of Georgia.
Chance Moore, Guard – 6’5 160 lbs. – Holy Innocents Episcopal School (Atlanta, Georgia)

After snagging offers from Alabama and James Madison, Chance Moore has moved up in the rankings from third, to second ranked in the entire state. The 6’5 guard has been locked in the gym all summer, gearing up for the 2019-20 season for the Holy Innocents Episcopal School. Moore made such a huge impact last year that he is still receiving offers, for his game is well-polished and crafty. Moore currently has over 15 offers on the table from major programs like Xavier, South Carolina, Wake Forest and USF as well.
Frank Anselem, Center – 6’10 200 lbs. – Lincoln Academy (Suwanee, GA)

In the recent 247Sports composite rankings, Anselem moved up from 58th to the 56th ranked player nationally. Last weekend, Anselem competed in the Battle for Georgia and was one of the key standouts in the Nike Elite 100 camp. He currently has over 16 offers from schools including, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and Kansas State. The month of June was huge for Anselem as he received offers from DePaul, Nebraska, LSU and TCU.
Bretner Mutombo, Center – 6’10 210 lbs. – Lincoln Academy (Suwanee, GA)

Bretner Mutombo has taken the entire summer to showcase is everlasting ceiling as one of the premier big men in the state. Mutombo has played in abundance of team camps this summer including the NCAA Georgia Top 100 camp, Elite 100 camp and the Battle for Georgia. Mutombo’s rank has risen according to 247Sports composite rankings jumping from 113th ranked to 109. He currently has over 8 offers at his door step including schools like Florida, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State. Early June, Mutombo took an unofficial visit to the University of Kentucky. With his level of play, I expect Mutombo to receive an offer from BBN and other major level programs before the season starts based on his play this summer.
Kaleb Washington, Small Forward – 6’7 185 lbs. – Pebblebrook HS (Mableton, GA)

One of the top two-way players in the state Georgia, Pebblebrook High School’s Kaleb Washington has jumped into the national rankings discussion. Washington is now ranked at 92nd in the nation, 20th for the small forward position and remains ranked at 8th in the state. Washington is a lengthy wing who is able to score and get the job done defensively. Washington is a gym rat, who embraces the game each time he’s on the court and I expect him to continue to jump in the 2021 rankings nationally and for his position.
