Matt’s Saturday The Finale Standouts
Saturday featured tons of great action and talent on the floor in Oklahoma City. Get a look at a few prospects I was able to see.
Aaron Engleman 2020 Missouri Flight Epps Guard
Engleman shot the ball lights out from three-point range on Saturday. He was so dominate the defense elected to box and one him making sure he had little room to shoot.
Sam Godwin 2020 Buddy Buckets Forward
Godwin was a monster on the boards to kickoff his July. The hustle he brings to the floor adds so much value. Godwin finished well inside too.
Melvin Holloway 2020 Texas Mel Guard
Holloway shot it from way downtown with success this weekend. Off the bounce he caught fire shooting it. At the Point Holloway has a great feel for the game.
Jaden Wells 2020 Playmakers TX Guard
Wells was the find of the morning. The kid players with great swagger. His game resembles a little bit of JJ Reddick with how he finds his shots and can pull up on a dime. Wells shot the ball exceptionally well from deep and mid-range.
MJ Warrior 2020 BTR Point Guard
When Warrior wanted to get to the rim he did. It was as if the Red Sea was parting with his excellent speed to the cup. Warrior is a leader, scorer, and most of all a competitor. He makes others around him better. There was a reason most of the 65 college coaches in attendance had their eyes on this one.
Lado Laku 2020 Team FOE Elite Center
At 6’10 Lakin instantly catches your eye. He sent a basketball flying into the stands the first time I watched him today. Laku brings high energy to the floor. On top of his hustle, defense, and rebounding. Laku is also a nice mid-range shooter and can even step out and shoot it from three.
Dominic Luna 2021 NM Team Swoosh
In what was an epic double overtime game Luna put on a scoring clinic this afternoon. He scored the ball from all three levels doing it with multiple defenders guarding him throughout the day.
Landry Harris 2021 Oklahoma Power Point Guard
Harris was instrumental in the Oklahoma Power 16U overcoming a tough Team Swoosh New Mexico squad. He diced up the defense with his outstanding change of pace off the bounce. With seconds remaining he drove strong and finished with his left to advance his squad to the next round.
Lawson Jenkins 2020 AAO Flight Wing
Jenkins put on a great shooting display. I love the length he has to go with his jumper. Jenkins fits as a guy who can pop out and hit shots for a squad. He also has a lot of potential as a defender with his length. NCAA D2 Level is where I would project him.
Jaxson Robinson 2021 Team Griffin Wing
Robinson was in the perfect open spots where he needed to be all night long for three-pointers. He found his rhythm early and it never wavered. Robinson has turned into a High Major Three and D guy.
Marcus Williams 2020 Team Harden Guard
This was one of my favorite players from the day. Williams was throwing dimes running the show. Not only was Williams a great passer he also threw down some impressive jams.
