As summer ball is now in full swing, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at some of the state’s top players on the rise in a variety of positions.
Below are some of the state’s players to keep your eyes on in the 2020 class
Nick Arensburg, 6’2, G, 2020, Shawnee Mission East
has a good feel for the floor and shows combination dribbles and movement when he has the ball in his hand. He can light things up from a distance and has the athleticism inability to get past his man and to the basket and the free throw line. A bouncy player coup has great rhythm and drive.
Torry Moore, 5’11, G, Wyandotte
A strong guard who can move inside and do damage on both ends of the floor. He plays strong, aggressive defense and is great at selling contact and getting charges called. He has good handles and is a very good score and team organizer. He facilitates the ball well and connects across the floor.
Zarian Navy, 6’3, G, 2020, Aquinas
A player who has good size and length for the guard position and a smooth touch to his game. He has good mechanics as a shooter and is good at getting the ball out of his hands quickly both as a shooter and a passer. he defends multiple positions and can control a game on the defensive end. He has good handles as well.
Ty Shelley, 6’4, G/F, 2020, KC Piper
Easily one of the most underrated shooters in the area. Shelley is a player with great size, length and athleticism. He moves well off the ball and can operate as a catch-and-shoot player. He’s a skilled player with the ball in his hands and can create for himself, defend at a high level, and rebound well on both ends of the floor.
Tre Washington, 5’10, G, Derby
Washington is great with the ball in his hands and can shake off defenders and get to the basket. He passes well when he’s double teamed and is good at creating openings for himself. Just a creator at all times. He’s constantly looking to get his teammates involved and is a high-percentage shooter from behind the line.
