He knocked down a couple of threes early and was able to show his quick release. He’s a streaky shooter but got a couple to fall this weekend. Jeffries can get his shot off in a hurry and makes it look smooth. He handled the ball well as his turnovers were very limited and looked poised with the ball in his hands. While he didn’t finish at the rim as well as others, he was able to get to the rim whenever he wanted and ended up with a lot of good looks. He keeps the floor open when the ball is in his hands and is able to see the court relatively well. Was able to contribute in different ways and his unique build and size will continue to help him.
Strengths:
- vision, makes the easy pass, made at least two extra passes to wide open shooters
- quick release, knocked down two threes with a hand in his face
- constantly in passing lanes, led to steals and bad passes
- quick first step, led to a lot of looks at the rim and opportunities to create for others, has a knack for getting two feet in the paint
- Nice motor, plays hard
Weaknesses:
- struggled on defense at times, gave up an and one because of slow help, got beat one on one a few times
- couldn’t seem to finish today, got to the rim easily but couldn’t get the ball in the hoop
- disappears at times, especially when playing with great players
