2020 6’5 Jamal Barnes | St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes
Barnes picked a good time to have a nice performance last night as a slew of low and mid major programs were able to see what he can bring to the next level finishing with 15 points of 7/10 from the field. Barnes is a guy that seems to always have a solid overall game on both ends of the floor and I expect him to do the same at the next level.
2021 6’3 James Gross | Rock Creek Christian
I have always been super high on Gross ever since I saw him at our Maryland/DC Top 250 exposure camp and last night I saw glimpses of what I expect for him to bring during his time in college. Gross has great strength, athleticism and is super explosive that excels in finishing in transition and above the rim. Last night he finished with 14 points and 8 rebounds in a 20 point win over McDonogh.
2022 6’8 David Onanina | Bishop O’Connell
I am starting to become really high on the next big man to come out of Bishop O’Connell as Onanina is going to play a big part in the success for the Knights this upcoming winter. Onanina is super strong in his upper body which allows him to do so much down low as last night he finished with 8 points and 15 rebounds.
2021 6’2 Brayon Freeman | Bishop O’Connell
The rising junior did what he does best on Friday night which is score the basketball where he scored 21 points in O’Connell’s 2 point win over Bullis. Freeman has had a great summer for Team Loaded Virginia and Bishop O’Connell during Capitol Hoops Summer League and that continued Friday in front of college coaches.
2020 6’8 Paul Smith | DeMatha
One guy that is going to see a role increase this upcoming year in the WCAC is rising senior and from the look of last night we might see an increase in his stock too after a very efficient night from the floor going 5-6 finishing with 10 points. He could be an X-factor this year for Mike Jones and his DeMatha Stags.
