Charles Chukwu 6’9 C / Katy Paetow HS [Rytes Warriors] 2022
He is a true old school big. Holds down the paint well on both ends of the floor. Physical physique with great strength. He has the quickest springs I’ve ever seen in a traditional big. This weekend he played up on the 17U level and you couldn’t tell that he didn’t belong there. His Sunday stat line was remarkable. Scored 23 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and had 10 blocked shots. College coaches at all levels would love this guy (as seen in the picture).
Tyler Simon 6’4 CG / Houston Heights HS [Basketball University] 2021
Tyler plays on both the 16U and 17U squads for BU. He played really well on the 16U level this weekend. Showed that he can handle the ball and run the offense. He has good combo moves to create for himself and others. Long wingspan and rebounds the ball well. Shots the deep ball well and finishes at the rim. He isn’t the quickest guard but his long stride allows him to get around defenders and close gaps defensively on his opponent. Will be interesting to see what he does school ball next season with the player movement that has taken place.
Braedon Edison 6’3 SF / Cinco Ranch HS [Basketball University] 2021
Scores well around the rim. Has a good outside shot as well. Though he may be undersized for his position by height, his body frame makes up for it when he bangs down low. Some people call him “Baby Draymond” because he’s active on the court and does everything on the floor. He is a true glue guy that plays his role well. Finished the weekend with an average of 15 points per game and 8 rebounds per game. College coaches get familiar with this prospect over the next two seasons.
Javon Jackson 6’1 G / Summer Creek HS [Team Harden] 2021
Don’t take your eyes off of this prospect when he’s in the game. He can score in bunches and in a hurry. He has a deadly deep ball strap on him also. High motor guy who is an offensive prowess. He can take his man off the dribble. Scores well in traffic at the rim. Has good off ball speed. Great catch and shoot player on the perimeter as well as create his own shot from the perimeter.
Elijah Lawrence 6’0 PG / Bellaire HS [RL9] 2021
Elijah is a quick point who has blow by speed. He creates for his teammates as well. If your stuck guarding him in an ISO situation good luck. This prospect can flat out score the ball from deep and at the rim. Has a super high motor. Plays with a point to prove every time he steps out on the court. He is definitely a prospect that coaches need to keep an eye on.
