OTRH “Sweet 16” Shooters

<ol> <li style="list-style-type: none"> <ol> <li><strong>Tibet Gorener</strong> (Montverde Academy [FL] / Team M.O.A.M) <ol> <li>Gorener was probably the most collegiate ready shooter that I had the chance of watching at the “Sweet 16” showcase this past weekend. At 6'8” he is able to raise up over just about any defender that tries to guard him and his range stretches out well beyond the collegiate line. He excelled on the glass and did a good job of converting those into second chance points for Team M.O.A.M over the course of the weekend. I expect Gorener to develop even more at national power Montverde Academy and that upside should have coaches wanting to heavily pursue this prospect moving into his senior campaign.</li> <li style="list-style-type: none"> </li> </ol> </li> <li><strong>JeKobe Coleman</strong> (Fayette County [GA] / Infinite Skillz) [caption id="attachment_735754" align="alignright" width="177"] Tibet Gorener[/caption] <ol> <li>I've had the opportunity of seeing Coleman play at several events over the past month and I am impressed with his ability to shoot the basketball every time out. Playing on a balanced but free flowing Infinite Skillz team, the 6'1” guard is able to make shots off the bounce or off the catch from a penetrating floor general, looking comfortable doing both. He is coming off a junior year at class 5A-Runner up Fayette County where he averaged a team leading 14.6ppg and will be looking to continue that scoring prowess for the remainder of the spring and summer.</li> </ol> </li> <li><strong>Titus Griffin</strong> (Covenant Christian [AL] / Nike Elite Stars) <ol> <li>Griffin is a tough competitor and he showed the ability to get after it on both ends at the “Sweet 16” showcase. Although 6' in stature, Griffin was at his best when playing off the ball as he was able to pour in seven field goals from behind the arc in the two games I saw him in for Nike Elite. He was able to get tough shots off even when guarded by taller and more athletic defenders and on the defensive end he knows where to be in help, taking multiple charges on overly aggressive drivers. He is a big time scorer with Covenant Christian high (AL) and proved that this weekend.</li> </ol> </li> <li><strong>Sam Youngblood</strong> (McAdory [AL] / Hype Elite) <ol> <li>As a coach and spectator, you've got to love a confident shooter and that is what Youngblood exhibited in his match-ups over the weekend. He's got good size at 6'3” and a smooth stroke from beyond perimeter. Even though he poured in 12 points from deep in the game I watched, Youngblood was able to score it on all three levels as well for his remaining 10 points in that same contest. He can hit the baseline floater off the bounce, run the floor for easy lay-ups, and simply knows how to get himself open for good looks on the floor.</li> </ol> </li> <li><strong>Javian Mosley</strong> (Westside-Macon [GA] / Team Georgia Magic) <ol> <li>If you are familiar with the area, you'd know Stratford Academy (located in Macon, Georgia) guard Devon Butts recently signed to play with Mississippi State next season. Butts, who is known for his ability to shoot the basketball at a high level, played with Team Georgia Magic during his travel ball career and Mosley reminds me of a younger version of him right now. The lefty has the ability to put points up in a hurry, using the three-point shot to do so, without demanding the basketball. He is a current sophomore but already stands 6'3” and has the ability to change speeds off the dribble to score the ball in more ways than one.</li> </ol> </li> </ol> </li> </ol>
