He’s a straight A student who works hard both on and off the floor. During a recent interview with Prep Hoops, we got to know Peterson a little better as he discussed his overall game, goals, and recruitment.
PH: For those who haven’t seen you play, how would you describe your game?
DP: “I think I’m just someone who brings energy to the floor, especially on the boards. I can get a bucket down low when I need to.”
PH: Why do you play so hard? What’s that all about?
DP: “Not everybody wants to play hard. They wanna shoot threes and do all the pretty stuff, but I kinda like to do the nitty gritty stuff. Keep my team in possession.”
PH: What do you think you need to work on?
DP: “I need to get stronger. Getting in the weight room this summer will be big. And then I’ve gotta work more on being able to handle the ball.”
PH: How are your grades?
DP: “All A’s. 4.275 GPA.”
PH: Who’s recruiting you right now?
DP: “I’ve had coaches from CNU, Hood, Marymount, Washington & Lee all text me recently.”
PH: What are your goals?
DP: “I just want to get to the next level, be successful, and get a good career as I get older.”
PH: What do you hope to bring to a college program?
DP: “I can definitely bring rebounding. I can also stretch the floor a bit and knock down threes.”
