Coming off a productive junior season, the versatile and athletic wing was a standout in last week’s NOVA Cavaliers Scrimmage in front of a handful of D3 coaches. We got to know Miers a little better during a recent interview in which he discussed his overall game, goals, and much more.
PH: For those who haven’t seen you play, how would you describe your overall game?
CM: “I like to see myself as a two way player. I can get after it on defense as well as score the ball. I can get my teammates involved, just space out the floor and look for open shots.”
PH: How tall are you?
CM: “I’m about 6’1.”
PH: What’s your wingspan?
CM: “About 6’5.”
PH: How well would you say you shoot the ball?
CM: “I feel like I shoot it pretty well. I feel like my three has gotten better. I think my mid range is probably my best in terms of scoring.”
PH: What do you think you need to work on right now?
CM: “Definitely my ball-handling. And just probably my stamina.”
PH: How are your grades?
CM: “My grades are good. I have a 3.6 right now. A’s and B’s.”
PH: Who’s recruiting you?
CM: “Its slow right now. I wouldn’t say too many are reaching out, but a few D3’s have.”
PH: Which schools have reached out?
CM: “Randolph Macon and Carnegie Mellon.”
PH: Do you know what you want to study in college?
CM: “Not yet.”
PH: What are your goals?
CM: “Just get a lot of looks, improve my game, and be the best I can be.”
PH: What do you think you can bring to a college program?
CM: Athleticism, defense, shooting, and getting things done on the floor that need to be done.”
