The game featured quite a few players that have already moved on to play basketball at the college level but also featured some players that are either still in high school or playing on the JUCO level.
2019 PG John Michael Wright: He was named the winner of the slam dunk contest and Saturday was a testament to how far he has come. He’s gone from being a rotation player to a top player in the gym throughout the entire season. He can score the ball at a very high level and doesn’t force things at all, D1 programs have offered and he should be making a decision sometime this spring or early summer.
2019 F/C Emmanuel Izunabor: Our first time seeing him play a few years back, he was a raw player that was still learning how to play the game but you could see the potential. After years of work on his craft and in the weight room, he has developed into a very nice prospect and has picked up some offers from schools on the D1 level.
2019 PG Talton Jones: He dropped in the building right after playing in a tournament a few hours away and showed the talent and potential that we have seen over the years. Having good size for a guard is one of the things that you have to like about him as well as ability to defend and pass at a high level.
2019 Forward William Oyeonodi: One of the attributes that you have to like about him is the fact that he doesn’t mind playing the game in a physical manner. These days you have many players that plain and simply don’t like to play the game with contact but that couldn’t be further from the truth for Will. As the season went on we saw his confidence in his game return and various D2 programs have expressed interest with Barton College extending an offer to him.
2019 Guard Brandon Murray: Recently he made the decision to attend St. Andrews University which we feel could work out for him nicely as he could be a player that could contribute on the NAIA level pretty early. He has a smooth shooting form, good size for a SG at about 6’4 and all the tools to be a good defender.
2019 Guard Charles Page: As the high school season went on, his playing minuets increased and he put up some nice numbers. He’s a knock down shooter that can get hot at any moment and we feel that once he gets into the right college program he could be successful.
2020 Guard Jamel Carter: He took part in the 3 point contest and showed a silky smooth shooting form with a high amount of treys dropping to take him into the championship round. We expect a big season from him next season as he will be on the few returners for Northwood Temple next season that has solid varsity minuets of experience.
