AAU Weekend Recap: NCAA Live Period
The lone Spring D1 NCAA recruiting period for AAU has come and gone. Players from Kentucky scattered all over the Country from the East Coast to the Midwest and played in front of college coaches at all levels. Here’s a recap of how things went for Kentucky teams.
Charlotte Court 17u played at the Terrific 24 and went 3-2. Scott County’s Jaylen Barber blocked 5 shots per game and South Laurel’s Brett Norvell shot the ball at a high rate, making lots of threes.
Kentucky Defenders 16u went 2-1 in the Pittsburgh Jam Fest. Grant County’s Blake Robinson led the team in scoring and Zaire Monroe had a solid weekend for the Defenders.
Manimal Elite 17u went 0-4 on the weekend. Their 16u went 2-2 and their 15u went 1-3 at the Adidas Gauntlet event. Isaiah Mason and Conner Cooper had big weekends for the 16u team while Justin Becker was solid for the 15u.
Hoop Dreams 17u went 2-3 on the weekend. 2021 JaQuais Franklin was good all weekend. The Hoop Dreams 16u team went 4-0 and their 15u team went 3-0 with no result reported for their last game. Jackson Sivills had a good weekend. More on that tomorrow.
Louisville Magic 16u went 4-0 in Atlanta. Kale Gaither and Dez Lindsay starred for the Magic over the course of the weekend.
Hopkinsville’s Up Next 16u lost the Championship game of the Adidas Silver Gauntlet in Indianapolis. They went 3-1 on the weekend.
Kentucky Ambition 16u went 3-1 at the Adidas Silver event. Sam Campbell and Baylor Mattingly led the team in scoring in a productive weekend.
CKy Magic – Morton 17u went 2-3 in the HoopSeen event in Atlanta. Amirion Joyce led a balanced team effort along with good weekends from Amari Taylor, Lincoln Bush and Ray Surratt are said to have boosted their stock while Joyce is now being called a sure D1 player.
The Louisville Legends 17u team went 2-2 on the Under Armour Rise Circuit. JJ Traynor is a hot name with coaches today and could be in line for D1 offers in the near future. Ashton Myles-Devore also had a good weekend for the Legends.
Kentucky Vision 16u team was short handed with only 6 players on the weekend and went 1-3 on the Under Armour Rise circuit. Cory Vanhoose led the team in scoring with games of 21,25,27 and 18.
M.A.T.T.S. Mustangs 17u went 2-2 in the UA Rise Circuit. Dayvion McKnight had a huge weekend and his recruitment should pick up. 16u Mustangs went 4-0 with a big weekend from Ben Johnson.
Nick Keeton had a big weekend for Pride Athletics as they went 2-1 at the Pitt Jam Fest. Rodrell Dryden also played well on the weekend for Pride.
Trey James plays for Chicago’s Meanstreets team. They went 4-1 on the weekend and James had a weekend high 22 points and 8 rebounds yesterday.
