Ben Fulton provided a pleasant surprise out of Tullahoma High School. Fulton’s lane agility time rivaled Jamie Abernathy for fastest of the day. Fulton managed 11.00 and 10.72 over successive sprints. His body control is very good and the quick times reflect that. Fulton is more of a wing than a point guard, but in a pinch he could play either at an NAIA school.
Fulton reminds of Landon Wilson (Bryan College commit) at the @PrepHoopsTN Fall Combine. Both are bouncy, quick, and volume scorers with outside shooting touch even though the graduating Wilson demonstrated more vertical explosion at the event. Fulton is fully capable of playing at that same college level, possibly higher depending on a few breaks.
As a two-guard Ben possess big hands, big feet (size 14). Don’t expect him to get taller, but he will need to fill out his chest and shoulders to endure the pounding of college basketball. It can be done, but of course it takes hard work in a short time. Fulton’s primary college evaluation window opens in days (AAU) and ends in a little over a year as he graduates in 2020.
A strong AAU season is mandatory, though Fulton’s recruitment is certainly going to continue deep into his senior season. Hopefully it is a fruitful journey towards a college offer or many.
