With that being said, we’re switching our attention to the AAU summer basketball and different programs across Louisiana. One of the newest teams in Louisiana is the LivOn-Fleur De Lis Basketball Team, under the leadership of Randy Livingston and Cleavon “Coach Clea” Williams . LivOn-Fleus De Lis will be competing on the biggest stage of them all, the EYBL Nike Circuit. This past weekend they traveled to Houston, Tx and competed in the RCS Spring Showcase against some of the top teams in the Adidas and Under Armour Circuit. The 16u team finished with an over all record of 3-1 and finished first in their respected pool division. The 16u team is still trying to put the right pieces together for the EYBL circuit, but look pretty good overall. Featured on this team are a lot of highly ranked Louisiana kids throughout the state. A list below are some of the kids that participated on the team this past weekend. #1 Javon Ruffin (Isadore Newman), #2 Emareyon McDonald (Red River), #3 Joe Charles (Carencro), #6 Will Allen (Bonnabel), #7 Carlos Stewart Jr (Dunham), #10 Lamarc Amos (David Thibodaux) , #11 Tyrease Johnson (Kipp-Booker T. Washington),#12 Delatrion Moton (Woodlawn-Shreve) and #29 Ryan Elzy (Ponchatoula). LivON-Fleur De Lis Basketball Program consists of 6 different age groups ranging from 6th-11th grades that compete on various levels. The LivOn Program is definitely looking to keep the Nike contract in Louisiana.
Coach Livingston and Coach “Clea’ bring over 15 years of coaching experience from the Adidas and Nike Circuit as well other different AAU levels. Both coaches have known each other for quite sometime now, where Coach Williams went to the famous St. Augustine and Coach Livingston the neighboring school, Isadore Newman. Although, both went on to play college ball, it was Coach Livingston that found his way to the NBA and played for 13 years. When asking the two what made them join forces, their reply is synonymous in that they wanted somebody who could match their intensity, vision, and effort. Their plans for this LivOn-Fleur De Lis Organization is to put Louisiana on the map and to show others that their are basketball players from Louisiana that can play at the highest level of competition. LivOn plans to win the Nike Peach Jam which is held July 11-14, 2019 in Augusta, Ga. Both coaches also want to “THANK NIKE” for entrusting their vision and awarding then with the Louisiana Nike Contract. LivOn-Fleur De Lis Nike Travel Team will play this weekend (March 22-24) in New Orleans at The South Hoop Fest/Ice Breaker.
