Senior Cam Montgomery earned D 5AAA MVP from the coaches three weeks ago. According to The Chattanoogan, Cam has college interest from Austin Peay and Tennessee Wesleyan.
T6. Wesley Maples (Sevier County) — 18 points
The Smoky Bears are winners of 11 of their last 12 games including a postseason sweep of the Morristown teams, a narrow win over Tennessee High Sunday and now a blowout involving Science Hill. Science Hill eliminated Sevier County 363 days ago, ending the Smoky Bears’ 2017-2018 season, 53-42. Now Sevier County is guaranteed placement in the Sectionals Monday though they face Dobyns-Bennett Thursday to determine each team’s sectional opponent. Sevier County played Dobyns-Bennett in the 2014 postseason. DBHS ended the Smoky Bears’ season, 53-47.
T6. Destin Wade (Summit) — 18 points
Destin and his team did not shoot well in the loss to Franklin. Destin made merely 6-15 from the field. His team shot a meager 35.1% from the field.
T6. Deron Perry (Riverdale) — 18 points
Unsigned senior guard Deron Perry surpassed the 1,000 point plateau tonight during the win over Coffee County.
T9. Roger Meadows (York Institute) — 17 points
Meadows and crew defeated district rivals Upperman and avoided Livingston Academy next round. The night could not have gone better.
T9. Carson Cary (Columbia Academy) — 17 points
Easy win for a surging team in their final year as a Class A team.
T11. Noah Smith (York Institute) — 16 points
T11. Herbert Booker (Oak Ridge) — 16 points
