Here, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at some of the tournament’s top shooters.
Connor Arment, 5’8, G, 2021, Barstow (Mo.)
One of the state’s top young guards, Barstow rising sophomore Connor Arment is a top-flight outside shooter capable of lighting up the scoreboard. He has a quick release, can shoot off the catch or create his own shot off the bounce and uses the threat of his outside shot to help set up other aspects of his game.
Wesley Clark, 6’0, G, 2020, Shawnee Mission West
Clark was one of several players who put together a strong tournament for West as the Vikings advanced all the way to the tournament championship game. Clark can knock down outside shots, but also showed the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the basket off the dribble.
Andrew Davis, 6’2, G, 2019, Blue Valley Northwest
Davis is getting a lot of playing time off the bench for the Huskies and has shown the ability to knock down outside shots and help BVNW spread the floor. He has a quick release and a smooth outside shooting stroke that appears effortless.
Jack Moellers, 6’1, G, 2020, St. James
Moellers has earned a reputation as one of the state’s top outside shooters as he shows terrific form and balance and range well beyond the 3-point arc. He is an all-around player as well, with the ability to put on the floor a little and get to the basket and is a hard-nosed competitor.
Jake Reynolds, 5’11, G, 2019, Olathe East
Reynolds is a competitive point guard prospect who handles well and can create offense off the dribble for himself or others. He is a standout shooter at all three levels, capable of knocking down 3-pointers or shooting from the mid-range. He’s an underrated guard in the KC area.
