SEC Red: 20 Players To Watch
The SEC Red is one of the most talented and deepest conferences in Michigan. If you’re going to watch an SEC Red game this season, it’s tough to know who to look for among all the talent. Here is a list of 20 players that I will, and you should, go out of your way to see play this season.
Brandon Wade (2018, G, Skyline): Who doesn’t want to watch a Mr. Basketball candidate? He can score in bunches and handle the rock.
Drew Lowder (2019, PG, Pioneer): Speaking of Mr. Basketball candidates, here is a preview of a front runner in 2019. He’s lightning quick, can shoot and finish at the rim.
Jack Ammerman (2018, SG, Skyline): This kid is a spark plug who plays with unmatched intensity. Plus he’s one of the better shooters in Michigan.
Avery Lewis (2018, F, Huron): He’s the type of young man you just want to cheer for. He can do it all. Lewis grabs big rebounds, scores, and is a tough defender.
LJ DeWolf (2018, Guard, Huron): He’s an elite perimeter scorer and defender. He’s electric and fun to watch.
Lewis Willis (2018, G, Huron): Like his Huron teammates, he plays great defense. He can score in bunches and knows how to play the game.
Ryan Wade (2019, G/F, Skyline): He’s a high percentage shooter and a lockdown defender. The Division 1 offers have rolled in.
Jack Fitzgerald (2018, F, Pioneer): Its great seeing a tough, smart player who seeks out big rebounds.
Austin Young (2019, F, Pioneer): Pioneer teaches toughness and crashing the boards and he is another example of that.
Emmett Turner (2018, F, Saline): He bangs and plays physical. Turner attacks the rim on both ends of the court.
Christian Knox (2019, G, Skyline): This is a player who can shoot from anywhere and handle the ball. He’s also becoming a lockdown defender.
Griffin Yaklich (2020, G, Saline): He’s a silky smooth player who can get in the lane with ease. Yaklich can break a zone with his range or penetration.
Mike Davis (2020, F, Huron): He’s an athletic big who can finish with force. He’s a player with a big upside.
Zach Lewandowski (2018, F, Bedford): Bedford has a history of producing tough and physical post players, and he fits the bill. Will shoulder much more of the load this season.
Jacob Williams (2018, G, Pioneer): This kid is a gym rat with a nice mid range game. He could have a real breakout season.
DeSean Munson (2019, F, Skyline): This young man is an athlete who can run the floor. He has a great instinct on the glass as well.
Connor Terech (2019, F, Saline): He may not blow up the stat sheet, but just watch him closely. He does the little things.
Art Caldwell (2018, C, Huron): This kid is a post player with a nice upside. Look for him to be active on the boards and defensively.
Dylan Blossom (2018, G, Bedford): Its fun to watch leaders at work. Look for him to play a big role in Bedford’s success.
Mac VanRenterghem (2020, G, Pioneer): He has star talent in my eyes. Moves well with or without the ball and sees the court.
