Prep Hoops 250 Expo – Under the Radar Players
Prep Hoops SC held there first 250 Expo yesterday at the Myrtle Beach Sports Center. Lets take a look at some kids who came in as under the radar players.
Donovan Belton (2018) – Camden HS (pictured on front)
Belton 6’2 left-handed guard wing player is a great passer in the open floor. Belton really sees the floor very well. Belton likes to get out in transition and shows to have a very nice mid-range game. Belton plays the passing lanes extremely well.
Cristian “Cris” Paez (2018) – Greenville Tech
Paez is built like a freight train with a thick frame. Paez informed Prep Hoops that he plays high school football at Mauldin HS where he plays wide receiver for the Mavericks, Paez was strong with the ball and wasn’t afraid to mix it up at times on the floor. Paez played AAU this past summer with the Karolina Khaos.
Greenville Tech attends school at Greenville Tech but since they don’t offer football he suits up for Mauldin HS.
Shane Hammonds (2018) – McBee HS
Hammonds comes from the small town of McBee which is known for McLeod Farms and Mac’s Pride Peaches. Hammonds a 3 sport athlete plays football, basketball and baseball. Hammonds carries a 4.2 GPA in the classroom.
Hammonds averaged 11.3 ppg last season for the Panthers. Hammonds 6’1 got to the basket today with ease and knockdown some mid-range jumpers.
Vance Lupton (2018) – Wando HS (Mount Pleasant)
Lupton just hit shots on the offensive end of the floor. Lupton shot several from the wing and corners today. Lupton played AAU this summer with the Premier Jammers.
I’rek Hartwell (2020) – Hunter-Kinard-Tyler HS (Neeses)
Hartwell 5’10 was a pleasant surprise today in the Prep Hoops 250 Expo. Hartwell a guard was around every loose ball and creating havoc on the defensive end. Hartwell likes to shake and bake with the ball but at times did get a little too fancy. Hartwell played with a great attitude all day long on the floor.
