Lees-McRae verbal commit Quay Kimble is playing in the NC vs SC All-Star Game and in the 3-point shootout in Myrtle Beach this weekend. Mars Hill University has offered Devonte Pettaway of North Pitt HS. He will take a official visit on April 17. Tennessee State was in this week to see 2017 PG Tracus Chisholm of York Prep (SC). Solomon Smith of Greensboro Day (NC) has committed to Queens (Charlotte). Junior Zach Baldinelli of Boiling Springs (SC) is starting to get some interest from Wofford College and Newberry University. He is still getting some mail and love from Oregon State, Upstate, Lander, St. Andrews. Yale, Kansas State and College of Charleston are the latest to reach out to 2018 Trey McGowens of Team United. Wofford and Charlotte were in this week to see unsigned senior Tyrell Kirk of Whiteville HS (NC). Braden Galloway of Seneca (SC) tells me he is not going to play travel basketball this year and focus on football. Wagner and St. Francis (NY) will be in to see former Kinston HS star Darnell Dunn of Miami Dade (JC) this week. Juwan Blanton of East Rutherford HS has committed to Lees-McRae. Jacob Whitley of West Stanly HS has committed to Catawba College. Kansas has offered Jairus Hamilton of Cannon School (NC). Trey Johnson of Northern Guilford HS has committed to Milligan College. One of the top recruits in North Carolina, Blake Harris from Word of God (NC) has some options now that Washington head coach Lorenzo Romar has been relieved of his duties from the school. Legacy (SC) big man Tyrell Mendenhall committed to Richard Bland College (VA). A big bodied forward who should thrive in that system.
