Class 6A first session stock risers
The Class 6A State Tournament got underway with two games in the afternoon session. Edmond North defeated Broken Arrow to get the tournament underway. Union and Putnam City West followed.
Camyrn Dennis 2019 Broken Arrow Combo Guard
Dennis shot the ball with outstanding confidence and form on Thursday afternoon. He got half in the first half knocking in 3-5 from downtown. Dennis did not attempt a three-pointer in the second half and finished with a team high 16 points. Dennis is a player with a bright future who projects to the Division I level.
Marques Wilson 2017 Edmond North Shooting Guard (Signed LeHigh)
Wilson was unstoppable on Thursday afternoon shooting the ball lights out. He scored a game high 32 points against Broken Arrow. He started strong shooting the ball so smoothly. Wilson is one of the top prospects in the Oklahoma 2017 Class and he showed why on Thursday afternoon.
Damion Thorton 2018 Edmond North Forward
Thorton was the definition of efficient on Thursday afternoon. He scored 12 points on four shots and four makes. Thorton will be a steal for a Division II program. Keep close tabs on him.
Marvin Johnson 2017 Edmond North Wing
Johnson looked like the energizer bunny on Thursday afternoon. He played with great energy all game long, which led to good looks at the basket. Johnson is one of the top JUCO recruits in Oklahoma. At 6’5 on the Wing, Johnson is one Division I teams should keep an eye on after two years of JUCO.
Braden Boyer 2018 Broken Arrow Post
Boyer is a 6’7 Post who works very hard on the block. He projects to the Division II level. Boyer dominated inside at times on Thursday afternoon. He does a good job of going up strong to the basket.
Tony Hall 2017 Broken Arrow Wing
Hall was a monster on the boards all day long on Thursday. The energy he brings to the floor is contagious. Hall brought down 19 rebounds and scored 12 points. Hall projects to the Division II level with his 6’5 size n the Wing.
Ethan Chargois 2017 Union Forward (Signed SMU)
Chargois had another solid game for Union by his standards. 13 points and 13 rebounds was just another day in the office for the 6’9 Forward. Chargois did a great job of rebounding the basketball. SMU got a good one.
Adrian Rodriguez 2017 Union Forward (Signed UTSA)
Rodriguez is the steal of the Oklahoma 2017 Class. He scored 25 points with his non-stop competitive nature on the floor. The best way to describe the play of Rodriguez is energy, will and want to. He also pulled down 8 rebounds in the victory for Union.
George Price 2017 PC West Combo Guard
Price was on fire from three-point range netting 16 points with 4-6 coming from downtown. He projects to the JUCO to Division II level. Price was one of the best scorers with the ball in his hands creating offense in all of Class 6A.
Rondel Walker 2020 PC West Combo Guard
Walker broke out under the bright lights of the Mabee Center. He is a must watch for Division I programs. Walker is a skilled 6’3 Guard with major upside. He scored 15 points for the Patriots. Walker can score in all three phases of the game.
