The Lakers captured the Class 3A state title a year ago and are now playing in 5A. With seniors David Nickelberry and Xion Golding and junior Rahsaan Lewis back again this season, Windermere Prep is built for another deep playoff run.
Seelman is the fourth piece of the puzzle with an average of 7.5 points per game. At 6’6″, the senior is a tough-minded player who isn’t afraid to mix it up down low.
On Tuesday night, in a 59-58 win at Tampa Catholic, Seelman had eight points. All of his buckets came in the paint where he fought for most of the night.
Nickelberry set Seelman up on a few of his shots, but it was a muscle game for the two-sport athlete. Fresh off football season, Seelman is noticeably more muscular than a year ago.
In games where defenses focus on Nickelberry, Golding or Lewis look for Seelman to pick up the slack. The Lakers are a dynamic offense and Seelman is a huge part of their success thus far this season at 3-1.
