Dillon Thomas was “mr. everything” for the Eagles throughout their run. The heady & tough lead guard contributed to his team’s win in so many different areas.
BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | DILLON THOMAS | GODWIN ’17
Thomas was held without a point until the last minute of the third quarter, when he hit a 3 to tie the game. He proceeded to score 13 fourth quarter points, knocking down several clutch free throws to clinch the game.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | DILLON THOMAS | GODWIN ’17
Thomas was the leading rebounder on the team with six. He exhibited solid defensive fundamentals and consistently communicated to his teammates.
BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR PERFORMANCE | TIMOTHY FISHER | GODWIN ’17
Timothy Fisher was a workhorse for Godwin throughout this tournament. The athletic 6’5 forward was a terror on the offensive glass and showed a nice touch around the basket.
BEST REBOUNDER | CARRINGTON BROX | HAYFIELD ’17
Carrington Brox recorded a game-high 8 rebounds to go along with 3 steals and 12 points. The much improved senior has a relentless work rate and finished well through contact.
BEST UNDERCLASSMEN | MICHAEL JOINER | HAYFIELD ’19
Keep an eye on Hawks starting point guard Michael Joiner. The long & lanky point guard boasts considerable length and massive hands.
BEST CATCH AND SHOOT GUY | LUKE JONES | HAYFIELD ’19
Luke Jones is considered to be one of the best shooters on Hayfield’s roster. The junior guard can quickly set his feet and get his shot off with little room to operate.
BEST PASSER | DILLON THOMAS | GODWIN ’17
While his assist totals weren’t gaudy, Dillon Thomas impressed with his decision making and passing accuracy. He shrewdly used ball fakes to give him room to make the correct read.
BEST INTANGIBLES | DILLON THOMAS | GODWIN ’17
This was an easy one. Thomas never forced a single shot. He was extremely efficient, and constantly focused on the end result.
