Friday night Northern Illinois Assistant Coach Jon Borovich watched Blair play at NY2LA Summer Jam. The NIU Huskies are new, but not alone in recruiting the 6-foot-6 small forward out of Livonia, Michigan.
The wing was contacted by Central Michigan and Kent State back on June 15th, as reported by Kyle Mills. Ferris State offered him that June morning.
Now his list of interested schools has expanded to include: Eastern Michigan, Detroit, Oakland, Dayton, and Northern Illinois.
Blair already has offers from Ferris State and Hillsdale. His grandfather played basketball for Western Michigan University.
While Quinn is not alone with R.E.A.C.H. Legends 16u, the team is bouncing good opponents all weekend long.
Matt Richmond Explodes
An unknown shooter on the AAU circuit splashed onto the radar Saturday afternoon. Matthew Richmond (Dearborn Divine Child HS) nailed eight three-pointers in a single game, ousting a quality Quad City Elite 16u squad.
“I transferred in the middle of the season,” said Richmond. “I was averaging about 18 points and 8 assists when I transferred.
In April he was streaky, but promising.
“It has been more consistent (lately),” said Richmond. “My teammates were getting me open and the coaches got us in good spots to hit open shots.”
Saturday night R.E.A.C.H. Legends 16u play to advance to Championship Sunday.
“We want to win the championship and get more chemistry in my team,” said Richmond.
Rashad Williams (Wayne Memorial) , Caden Prieskorn (Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep) were other notable players on the Legends. Williams is fast to his left and assertive in the paint. He can easily absorb contact and finish.
