Continue ReadingNoah Locke, a class of 2018 guard who is running on the AAU circuit with Team Melo, is making a name for himself alongside the most productive guards in his class. The talented scorer out of McDonogh High School in Owings Mills, Maryland, is a prolific shooter who excels at creating space off the bounce. The rising junior is following up a solid high school campaign with some exceptional play during grassroots season.
While playing up with Team Melo 17U at the Hoop Group Southern Jam Fest, Locke demonstrated his scoring prowess from a variety of areas vs. Boo Williams EYBL. He describes himself as a versatile offensive threat.
“I’m a scoring guard,” Locke began. “I can shoot really well. I can get my shot off the dribble, off the catch. That’s pretty much how I score.”
An underrated athlete, Locke is a solid rebounder who is capable of finishing above the rim in transition. He may not be the biggest guard, but he can certainly elevate when he needs to.
“A lot of people they think I’m not athletic, but I can get up a little bit,” he stated.
Locke continues to perfect his craft each day by dedicating long hours in the gym. He’s working on improving his ball-handling and defense, but is not just limiting himself to those two areas.
“You know, I’m just working on everything, basically,” he began. “Just getting better overall.”
Claiming 5 offers already from Cincinnati, Tulsa, GW, USC, and UNCG, it won’t be long before more division 1 programs become involved in Locke’s recruitment. Syracuse has expressed recent interest in the services of the gifted scoring guard. Look for Locke to carry the momentum he’s built over the past six months with him into the July live period.
