The versatile wing is starting to find his groove on the EYBL circuit, scoring 10.3 ppg in his last three. The 6-foot-6 junior still is missing from deep, which is troublesome. Part of Brown’s skill set is the outside shot. It makes him an attractive scorer from numerous points on the floor.
Until his three-point shot starts to fall college coaches will not witness his complete arsenal. Last summer Brown was a real hidden gem. He has at least two more EYBL sessions to prove he is worthy of more offers.
Recruitment
Dalonte Brown added a Dayton offer over the winter. Toledo offered too.
This weekend, Brown listed a few dream schools.
“Duke,” offered Brown. “Kentucky.”
Residing in Toledo, Brown is in that very precarious Ohio portion where the question must be asked…Is he a fan of Ohio State or Michigan?
“I am a Badger fan,” said Brown.
Dalonte Brown High School Season
Brown thinks he could have had a better junior season for Toledo Bowsher High, despite the team’s advancement to the Sectional finals.
“I thought I could have done better,” said Brown. “Make my shots more (often). Next year I think we can make a big run.”
Areas for improvement for Brown include moving off the ball and scoring consistently from deep. Almost every youth athlete struggles to bring the maximum effort nightly. Brown is no different. He can be really good, when teamed with the right coach.
After two weekends of play, All-Ohio Red is 2-5 and tied for 9th in the EYBL Division A. They have some nice wings and will hit May with a purpose. Brown will too.
