Continue ReadingThe Class 2 District playoffs get underway in the state of Missouri this weekend. Many quality prospects are getting it done at these smaller schools. Here are some of those players who are looking to make an impact in the upcoming playoffs.
Dylan Caruso 6’8″ Mansfield (2019): One of the top freshmen post players in the state, Caruso is averaging 12 points and nine rebounds a game. Mansfield is the top seed in the District 10 Tournament.
Garrett Francis 6’3″ Salisbury (2017): Versatile forward who can produce from inside or on the perimeter. Salisbury is the No. 2 seed in District 7 after making the state quarterfinals last season.
Dexter Frisbie 6’10” Iberia (2016): Excellent post player who has been a dominant player inside all season, including a 52-point performance this season. Has signed with Missouri Southern.
Deandre Hardimon 6’4″ South Pemiscot (2019): Dynamic freshman who is very active and plays with a high motor. Averaged 16 points and eight rebounds a game. South Pem is the No. 2 seed in District 1.
Ayden Henry 6’1″ Thayer (2016): Talented senior guard with the ability to score. Averaging more than 20 points a game this season.
Brayden Kemper 6’1″ Mid Buchanan (2016): Excellent all-around guard who can score, rebound and pass the ball. Leads one of the top teams in District 16.
Marshon Morrisey 6’4″ Ellington (2017): Very talented power forward with a big body and a variety of nice inside moves in the low post. Ellington is the No. 1 seed in District 3.
Jeffery Porter 5’10” Scott County Central (2016): Strong guard who led the Braves to the state championship last season. Averaging more than 20 points a game. Excels in transition and can really get to the basket.
Caleb Steele 6’3″ Alton (2017): A real stat-sheet stuffer who leads his team in almost every category. Averaging 20 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block per game.
Micah Tanquay 6’4″ Sacred Heart (2018): Talented sophomore forward who has the ability to get buckets for one of the top Class 2 programs in the state.
Noah Vandiver 6’4″ Bloomfield (2016): Versatile forward who could really produce in the post, but has continued to improve as a ball handler and perimeter shooter. Leads No. 1 seed in District 1.
Ryan Ward 6’3″ (Hartville): Transfer from Newburg who can really play anywhere on the floor. Has scored more than 2,000 points in his career.
Isaac Weider 6’3″ Vienna (2018): High-scoring wing player who is averaging nearly 30 points a game. Can really shoot it from long distance. Has a 50-point game to his credit this season.
