Baltimore Polytech senior Jordan Jones picked up his first offer — from Division I Charleston Southern — last month, and has seen some additional D1 interest roll in of late.
“I have interest from UNC-Greensboro, Loyola (MD), Quinnipiac, and Robert Morris,” said Jones. “UNC-Greensboro is the next school that’s been recruiting me most (after Charleston Southern).
The 6-foot-8 power forward recently wrapped up his final grassroots season and says his jump-shot is something he can rely on now.
“The most improvement I saw this summer was with my jump-shot, I can hit that consistently now. I was just trying to be an all-around better defender, and mainly my role was just to rebound and run the floor,” said Jones, who summed up what he likes to do with on sentence.
“I just like to run the floor, get dunks, layups, and play at a fast pace.”
With the Engineers’ leading scorer Marcel Thompson graduated, it’s now Jones who will step up and take on some more scoring this season.
“We lots our leading scorer, so I’ll have to take on more of a scoring role this season while still doing my responsibilities that I did last year,” said Jones. “And my personal goal is just to help my team win a state championship.”
