Team Zona was one of the state's more unheralded teams this spring and summer. During the months of April and May their team had multiple seniors helping lead the charge including former Tempe guard Delano Jones and Cesar Chavez product Tarion May.
During the summer many prospects stepped up including 6'8″ Matthew Morgan (Fairfax) and Davion Green (Tempe). However, one prospect stood out more than the rest and that was San Gabriel Academy (CA) junior Carmelo Bright.
While Bright is an out of state prospect, he is more than capable of being named Team Zona's MVP. His activity at the rim and on the glass along with his energy jumpstarted this group numerous times and kept them in the game. He played a huge part in the team's success and has serious upside as a prospect.
